Inspired by op art, this season’s collection is another graphic expression that follows the previous collection, which was accentuated with psychedelic floral and marbling patterns.
Among the op art and psychedelic patterns, the ichimatsu(checkerboard) pattern draws the eye in particular; it is used freely in a variety of contexts, in a print created in collaboration with hysteric glamour, or juxtaposed next to contrasting materials.
To commemorate the brand’s 20th anniversary, designer MUG has completed collaborations with Hysteric Glamour —a brand she has respected since its foundation— and artist Frank Kozik. G.V.G.V.’s signature item, the lace-up MA-1 will be available as a reversible blouson that features Hysteric Glamour’s signature woman pattern.
